Greetings to my fellow PA hardcore trout fisherman. I live in Chester County and fish very often locally. In streams like White Clay Creek try using a variety of different baits and lures for trout. Since the state stocks a good mixture of both rainbow and brown trout, be sure to be in stock with minnows, waxworms and mealworms. Always have a container or 2 of salmon eggs and always always have a pack of regular worms with you. For browns try waxworms and minnows to start followed by a small white spinner or an "original" rainbow trout floating repala minnow lure. Rainbows take just about everything but if your a catch and release fisherman steer clear of power bait because of the high risk of the fish swallowing the bait quickly and being harmed. Tube Jigs can also be a hot lure for newly stocked trout. Have a good opening week!
