I wrote the last time how this whole summer is turning into just one big blurr. Well, these past two weeks flew by so incredibly fast as well that I am just in total disbelief! I mean, when I realized that I have to post again this weekend already I was like, no friggin way! I JUST did a report!

But here we are, two weeks later and just like that we are already better than halfway through this month of August now. That means I only have about another month of trips left before we pull the boat out of the water for the end of my season. Season #40. The fastest one yet of the previous 39. And the fishing the whole way has been simply for the record books. Just spectacular!

The weather these past two weeks however has been less than spectacular. It sure has been one rainy, stormy and windy period that we had no choice but to work on through. I think this is the most tired that Joyce and I have felt all of this summer so far. We're just getting plain worn down at this point between the weather and the routine itself. No matter how early we seem to go to bed now, we just don't feel rested up enough each morning anymore to face yet another ass beating from good old Lake Evil, I mean Lake Erie! But yet somehow, someway we pull it together each day and keep pushing through. I do find myself thinking more and more frequently now though, hey just one more month! What's 30 days! We can do this!

And we will. We always do. But it is a very physical job and probably better suited for a much younger person(s) if you're going to run at the level that we still do. Most don't have a clue! But at least the fishing itself has not been stressing us out. It remains as fast and furious as it has been all season long thus far. Quite unbelievable actually. Just run out 15- 17 miles, throw out 6 Dipseys and start harvesting. I don't even consider it really fishing anymore. It's more like going to a lush berry patch and picking up however many that you need for the day. And here's a word that I don't think that I've ever used in any of my fishing reports before in all of my 40 years of doing these reports... "Guaranteed"! (Ha! Watch that backfire on me now in these next 2 weeks!) I'll letcha know the end of this month. I mean, in two incredibly fast weeks how that worked out! Oh, and we do have a few open days the last week of August now that I would dearly love to fill. Even as tired as I am! Ha! Capt. Walt
