Biggest Walleye I Weighed - 06/12/2010

WALLEYE:

Barry Lichvar from Northeast, PA brought in a 14 pound 7 ounce Walleye. It was 32 inches long and had a girth of 20 ½ inches. He caught it in 55 ft of water off the Condo’s on a Watermelon Spoon.

This is the biggest Walleye I personally have weighed to date and I have been here thirteen years.

Here is newlywed Marlin Bougher of Gypsy, PA on his honeymoon. He brought in this nice 10 pound 10 ½ ounce Walleye for Angler Award. He said it was his first 10 pounder in all the time he has been fishing for them. It was 30 ¼ inches long and had a 17 ½ inch girth. He caught it out in 50 ft of water off Trout Run on Orange worm harness.

12 year old Dustin Rich of Erie and James Szuba, came in with their Walleye. Dustin’s was 6 pounds 9 ½ ounces, 26 ¼ inches long and had a girth of 15 inches. James’s fish was 9 pounds 8 ounces, 30 ½ inches long and had a girth of 16 ½ inches. They both were caught in 60 ft of water off the Point on worm harness. Dustin’s was on Watermelon and James was on Purple.

The boats seem to be doing better out East off the Lighthouse and off the Point. They are saying the Walleye and the Perch are there. Quite a few trolling in front of the creeks are doing pretty good. From what I am told the Walleye are at all depths and the Perch are right with them. The fishermen/women are catching the Walleye anywhere from 20 ft of water out to 70 ft of water.

PERCH:

The word on Perch is that they don’t seem to want to bite that much yet. I have had a few limits come in but they seem to be slow this week.
