STEELHEAD: Mark Haughton of Coraopolis, PA originally from Jamaica, brought in his 10 pound 5 ounce Steelhead for Angler Award for First Fish and it was a citation sized one too. It was 27 inches long and had a girth of 18 inches. He caught it near the Stop sign hole on Walnut Creek using a silver bug fly.

We had some snow this week and it put a little layer of slush on the creek and in the marina.

The Marina is a little over half covered with the slush. It is raining now but I still have about 20 vehicles here of people fishing in the creek. While walking the creek yesterday I did notice quite a few fish in waiting for the water to get a little higher. With the rain and snow that is coming it should be good fishing this coming weekend. 2010 FISHING LICENCES: 2010 Fishing licenses are now available. They make nice Christmas gifts. I get them every year for my kids. CLOSING FOR SEASON: Next weekend is the last time this office will be open for the winter season. I will close up the building on December 20 and I will be back to open it on April 10, 2010. Everyone have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
