We Need Rain 11/20/2009

STEELHEAD:

Anthony Repine, six years old of Erie, PA brought in his first fish. It was 2 pounds 3 ½ ounces and was 18 inches long with a girth of 10 ½ inches. He caught it in Walnut Creek.

Aaron Prezgay of Brookfield, OH caught his Angler Award sized Steelhead at the Stop Sign hole on Walnut Creek. His fish was 10 pounds 1 ½ ounces, 28 inches long and had a girth of 18 inches, He caught it on a homemade egg sack.

The fishing has been slow. The creeks have been low and clear and just walking along the bank you can look into the creek and see the fish waiting for rain to swim up further. We haven’t had any rain in almost a month so the fishing is good but the catching is very bad.

As of this writing Friday, November 20, 2009, we are now getting some rain. The rain we got late last night and early this morning was just enough to bring the streams up a little. I have seen as many fish get caught this morning as I have all week long so the much needed rain is helping.

Most anglers are telling me they are catching them on single eggs or egg sacks.
