MARINA OPENING: FIRST FISH: The marina opened on Wednesday, the 28th of this month at 1 PM. The first fish was NOT a Steelhead. It was a Catfish. Toni Mostoller of Quecreek, PA caught the first fish (Catfish) at 19 minutes 45 seconds after the marina opened. That is the longest time yet for getting the first fish and not a Steelhead yet to boot. It was 12 inches long and she caught it on wax worms. There were a couple hits but the fish got off before it could be brought in so it didn’t count. My belief is that with the rain we had, the fish scattered up the creek.

STEELHEAD: Sixteen year old Michael Madonna of Coatesville PA, brought in his 12 pound 4 ½ ounce Steelhead. It was 30 ½ inches long and had a girth of 19 inches. He caught it out at the Stop Sign hole in Walnut Creek on a Blood Dot fly.

Andrew Flock of Reynoldsville PA caught his 13 pound 14 ½ ounce Angler Award sized Steelhead between the Stop sign hole and the old boat launch on Walnut. It was 31 ¼ inches long and had a nice girth of 20 inches. He caught it using Power Bait. His color was Green.

Jessie Weaver of Erie Pa caught a 10 pound 3 ½ inches Steelhead. It was 30 inches long and had a 16 inch girth. He caught it in one of the holes at the Project Waters in Walnut Creek. He was using a Fly.

Thirteen year old Shane Wallace of Erie Pa caught his 8 pound 13 ½ inch female Steelhead at the Stop Sign hole on Walnut. It was 27 inches long and had a girth of 17 ¾ inches. He caught her on Pink egg sack.

James DeBoe of Erie Pa caught his Angler Award in the channel at Walnut Creek. It was 11 pounds 8 ounces, 30 ¼ inches long and had a girth of 17 ¾ inches. He was using Glow-In-The-Dark Mini Mite.
