What's Happening at Walnut Creek, PA

STEELHEAD:

I caught this picture from inside the building. As I was walking by the lobby window I saw this man catch and net this fish so I snapped a picture.

This one is of a man who was just so excited about catching one that he held it up to me for the picture and then continued fishing. I didn’t get any names but pictures are better than words anyway.

The people are still catching fish. I was told by a regular (Bruce) that the North winds are good for catching the fish. We have some pretty strong (25 knot) winds now too from the Northwest. But we have around 30 cars in the South lot and I have 15-20 people fishing around the basin and the north wall. I guess the threat of snow doesn’t hinder anyone from their love of fishing.

After next Friday the office building will be closed until April 9, 2008. I will be here on December 21 but just to close up for the season. Don’t forget you can get your fishing licenses now for next year. They make good Christmas presents if you can’t think of what to buy for someone.

Senior Lifetime Licenses can be bought if you will be 65 any time in 2008 from January 1 thru December 31. You can buy them anytime after January 1, 2008.

All licenses will be sold through the PALS (Pennsylvania Automated License System) machine now so there will be no paper licenses sold anymore. These are nice though because they are plastic and your information is burned into it so it won’t run or get ruined from water and such. Also it is a little easier to get a replacement if you loose yours.
