2026! HAPPY NEW YEAR! And Happy New (soon to be) Fishing Season! And what a monumental year this will be for me. My 40th year of full time guiding and running a highly successful fishing charter on Lake Erie. Out of the nearly 1,000 licensed guides that are on Lake Erie, there may only be a handful or so guys that can honestly say that! It’s a very physically demanding job never mind incredibly financially challenging to make a living off of the water. I have been very blessed to have been able to make it to this point with both aspects of that. Although I have worked through with some real aches and pains at times, to this point I have never failed to show up for each and every scheduled charter trip. Never a single sick day. Whether I felt good or not, I have always been there to do my very best and give everyone the most fun filled and productive day on the water that I possibly could. And I pray and hope that this year will be no different for us!
So we are already incredibly busy doing our behind the scenes offseason work. Everybody that fished with us last season will get their renewal packets here in the mail the next week or so with a lot of really neat enclosed materials. This includes our midwinter newsletter and all new brochure along with some additional goodies celebrating our 40th anniversary in business. And as most of you know that have been coming for years and years now, everyone that had a trip with us last year because of past patronage has the first shot at securing that same exact date or dates again for this summers fishing season. Trip reminder dates for 2026 will be listed and as always we please request your timely trip confirmations or thoughts as soon as possible so that if you are not coming that those dates may be offered to others. I encourage and hope that everyone is as excited as I am to return and help us celebrate this very big year for us. I’ve been hinting for a good while now that I don’t how much longer I’ll be able to or even want to continue doing this. One thing is for sure though. We are definitely nearing the end now. We will try to get this season in for sure and then I’ll seriously re-evaluate future plans going forward from there. But for now, year # 40. BRING IT ON!
