Smallmouth - Walleye - Perch - Shades Beach PA - June 3 2004 Heavy fog was in the air at the start of this fishing day. Light northwest wind gave good drift but action for the smallies was slow. A few nice smallies were caught near Shades Beach in 20 feet.
Big perch were biting good on those big golden shiners no mater were we drifted. Sheephead and rock bass were also on the line.
Nick had his hands full with a good size smallmouth on an ultra light rod. The fish danced on the water and dove for the bottom with that smallmouth power many times. Drifting for smallmouth is the best. Especially when you watch a youngster DO IT ALL!
A nice 25 inch walleye made the mistake of dining on a drifted golden shiner as the perch count mounted.
Nice day of fishing but the Smallmouth were slow with the passing cold front. Water Temp was 60 degrees.
