WEST ERIE COUNTY, DWCO Randy Leighton, WCO Brook Tolbert

Conditions:

Dry conditions over the last week have left area tribs low and very clear with the remaining steelhead holding in the deeper pools and near the access areas. The access area at Elk Creek was a busy spot this past weekend with a fair number of fish caught and the few anglers that have been braving the wintry conditions along the wall at the Walnut Creek Access area have been doing well. Most bait fisherman have been successfully using live shiners and single cured eggs under the lightest of lines and floats. Steelhead have been caught in Presque Isle Bay and Marina Bay for the hearty pre season boaters and a few lucky shoreline anglers. Stockies have been hitting well at both the Upper Gravel Pit Pond and at Lake Pleasant.
