Pymatuming Lake is starting to pick up again with a lot of smaller walleye
hitting over the weekend, however with the cold front that moved in today
(5/29/2001) that could change in a minute. A huge channel cat was caught by
Cyril Onder of Laurel Maryland today at 4:45 PM in about 4 feet of water.
The fish measured 29 3/4" and weighed 12 pounds 8 ounces. He caught it on a
3/8 ounce jig (pink) with a night crawler. After weighing and measuring the
fish and getting a few photos he released it back to the lake for another
lucky angler to catch. Warm water species have also slowed down but are
still being caught on a regular basis by the dedicated angler who works the
back bays.

Hartstown is still producing a lot of panfish and offers a lot of excitement
with the flyrod or ultralight. People should remember though that turtles
are not in season yet and should not be killed or taken.

Conneaut lake has nothing new to report with all the bad weather it has
slowed the fish down and deterred the anglers greatly. The water temperature
has dropped a lot more than in Pymatuning because it is much deeper and
spring fed.

Linesville creek has been producing large (20") walleyes at night by
floating a minnow under a bobber however you should get there early as you
will be fighting the locals for standing room to get your line wet.
