Walleye !!!!
A limit of Walleye has been brought into Walnut Access by one lucky angler.
The way the story was told is that a number of fish were marked by the fish
finder and 4 hours worth of passes over them yielded nothing. The angler
kept trying different colors & lures. When he switched to purple & black
worm harnesses he limited out in one hour. The area fished was in 48' of
water straight out from the condos by Presque Isle. It isn't a far run and
may be worth a try to those itching to get into them.

Yellow Perch !!!
Nice catches have been made straight out from Walnut Creek in 48' to 52' of
water. Fish checked have been running about 25% jumbos in the 12" to 14"
range. No reports on how they are doing in the area off Gull Point.

Heavy rains ???
Don't let the weather ruin your fishing... Fairview Gravel Pit still offers a
nice selection of Trout, Bass, & Panfish when the main lake is unfishable.
State Line Ponds offer a great out of the way alternative great for bass &
panfish. The lower reaches of Elk Creek have tons of Smallmouth. Giant
Catfish will test your equipment when muddy water fills the tribs or leaves a
mudline on the shore. Catch rates have been observed in past season as high
as one fish per minute using nightcrawlers along the shoreline of the USX
Gamelands. (Unfortunately, those lucky anglers came over from Ohio & failed
to get their Pa. License first but admitted they had a blast until the
officer checked them)

Turtle Crossing !!
This seems to be the season for turtles being on the move. Sadly (being as
they are not the speediest of critters) many get hit by cars. Officers have
received several calls this past week from concerned nature lovers on some
injured Painted Turtles. Please use caution while driving and if safety
permits... maybe give them a hand getting across the road. Be very cautious
to stay away if they are Snapping Turtles though as a bite from these can
sever a finger.
