Fall is a particularly dangerous time on Lake Erie due to swift changes in
Lake conditions.
Be cautious in high waves entering Walnut Channel if you are inexperienced in
navigating it. Depth can change drastically after a Northeastern'r storm
hits. Also, even a 4' channel depth is cut to 1' if your boat "falls" off of
a 6' wave and into its trough.
New "Salmon/Steelhead" Regulations are now in effect as of September 5th. Be
sure to read your summary book for a refresher. Highlights include: **** A 3 fish creel limit with a 15" minimum size limit for combined trout /
salmon catches per calendar day *** * Time restrictions from 10 PM to 5 AM
