Monday November 19th finds the weather at Walnut Creek is peaceful for a change. The last launch ramp wooden dock is to be removed today. Launching a boat will be difficult by your self now.

Steelhead fisherman have gathered along the wall and some have been fixing in the basin. A few steelhead are been caught. The lake can be seen calm today but the water is muddy from the recent storms. This time of the year the channel is usually getting pretty closed in from the cold front storms. The wave action from the big waves hitting the shore moves and deposits sand and gravel restricting the channel opening .Sand and debris can be seen all the way onto the dock holders parking lot.

Famous Manchester hole Anglers fish for those tackle busting steelies.

One of the big spectacles to see when visiting the area is the mouth of Trout Run on Avonia road in Fairview. The stream has a restriction to keep the steelie from movement up stream. Here many hundreds of steelhead can be found late October into winter. Trout run is a NO FISHING stream.

Today also finds the PA fish commission removing select fish for the hatchery.
