STEELHEAD:

Ed Mitchell of Freeport PA brought in a nice looking 13 pound 1 ounce Steelhead for Angler Award. It was 33 ¼ inches long and had a girth of 18 inches. He caught it while fishing in the lake at the end of the Walnut Creek channel. He was using White Power Bait.

The lake is kind of muddy but look how nice it is for a December day. We had about 2-3 ft waves all day today and very sunny. The Lake temperature is 46 degrees right now. I left my date stamp on so you can see that this is a day in December.

The Marina is jumping with fish. I watched a man catch two fish on the North side of the Marina within an hour. There are lots of minnows in it too.

If you look towards the end of the channel you can see the difference in the lake color and the creek color. You can actually tell where the lake starts and the creek ends.

The Creek is very clear though. You can actually see the stones at the bottom.

Here is a shot of the fishermen up above the Stop Sign hole and you can make out how high the water is if you wanted to know.

This coming week is supposed to be just about as nice as today. Cleveland is not calling for any snow until next Friday night. It is supposed to be 43 degrees on Monday, 42 on Tuesday, 45 on Wednesday and 50 degrees on Thursday. I love this kind of winter. I wouldn’t mind if it stayed like this except for Christmas. Then we do need some snow.

FISHING LICENSES:

Don’t forget that we do sell fishing licenses down here at the Marina also but we are only open next Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I will be closing up for the end of the season on the 23rd so no licenses will be sold here after next Sunday till next year.

The prices are the same as last year and they do make good Christmas presents. So if you know someone who fishes and you can’t think of anything to get them for Christmas, a fishing license is just the thing.

Please note any changes from last year in your Summary Book. They are designated by a red circle in the book. You should get a book with your license.
