Mr. Buz Martin of Greene County was the person to catch the “First Fish”. It was caught and brought in 1min. 42 seconds after I blew the whistle. (LE helped too by sounding off their sirens.) The fish was 6 pounds- 6 ½ ounces, 25 inches long and had a girth of 15 ¼ inches. Mr. Martin said he was up in NY fishing and decided to stop here when he spotted a friend. He decided to stay and fish. He was using Yellow Power Bait when he caught it. There were another three fish on within a matter of two minutes after he caught his. The water in the creek is low and clear as of this writing. We are not expecting any rain for quite a while. The lake has 1 ft waves on it and I have had a few boats going out yesterday and today. The fishing isn’t the greatest but for November you can’t beat the weather. |
