Saturday we went out through the dense fog to the mountain. After a bit of nerve racking drving and thanks to the radar we arrived on top of the Mountain northwest of the North East Marina. With the fog laying in very heavy until about 10:30 the bite was on Everything had to be right on the bottom to score and silver and green spoons seemed to produce the best bites.
We had 8 fish on and had two that straightend out the hooks and were lost these were very large fish. I guess thats why it is called fishing and not catching??? After the sun burnt off the fog the bite slowed to nothing quickly and we decided to go after the elusive perch. Yes I said it (elusive). I believe that there is a great fishery for these Lakers and they are very good table fare, we took one home for the grill and everyone who tasted it thought it was very good. Every spring these fish can found for a few weeks in shallow water and are very susceptable to fishing. Anyway we found a nice school in 28 FOW and sat on them with a little work, jigging the bait we were able to boat 16 nice fish for the grill. This was a short second trip and having found that the females had all dumped their eggs and most of the males have released all of their sperm. we are now in the post spawn session and the Perch should be turning into high gear on the bite anytime.

Hope to see you on the water
Good Luck to All
