SMALLMOUTH BASS:

Bill Cowell, of Scottdale, Pa, brought in this huge 7 pound 6 ounce Smallmouth Bass for an Angler Award. It was 22 inches long and had a girth of 19 inches. That is 1 pound 2 ounces shy of the state record. He caught it in 18 ft. of water West of Walnut Creek. It was caught using a green Tube Jig. He was on board the “Hi Jacker” boat.

OTHER FISH:

So far the only fish getting caught is the Smallmouth. The Walleye are being fished for at night mostly but I have only heard of one man catching any off shore here at night at Walnut. The Perch are still spawning and they are not being caught over on this side. I have heard that the boats are getting some off the Point and the Lighthouse. But not is big numbers.

The water temperature is 50 degrees so it won't be much longer.

BOAT BARN DEMOLITION:

There will no longer be the boat barn as a land marker while you are out in the lake. It is being ripped down as part of the expansion project for Walnut Creek. According to the contractor, it should be done by next Friday.

This is the front view of the Boat barn here at Walnut Creek as you are coming in the road. This site will be changed forever.

This is a side view as it has looked from the office building.

This is the machine that is being used for the demolition.

This is the front view of the boat barn twenty four hours after the demolition started.

This is the side view twenty four hours after start of demolition.

The boat barn is the second thing to change here at Walnut Creek for the expansion project. (The first was the new docks we had put in last year.)
