STEELHEAD:

Bob Renkas of James Island South Carolina brought this nice Steel head in. It was over 8 pounds and was 26 inches long. He caught it just right of the Stop sign hole in Walnut Creek. He was using a “Crystal Meth” Fly and caught his limit with them. He said he gave a man a few of them to try since the man wasn’t having any luck. When he went by the man a little later, the man had a fish on.

Here is one of our regulars. Bruce Roland of Erie brought in this nice looking Steelhead for Angler Award. You could tell he was in for a while with his coloring. He was 11 pounds and was 29 ½ inches long. He had a 19 inch girth. Bruce caught him in the marina on a “Little Cleo”.

There are a lot of people catching fish up in the creek by the “Stop sign hole”. Also, I have seen at least 10 fish get caught in the marina today (Friday) so far. The water has a good color and there is water in the creek. I was told they are biting very lightly.

We still don’t have any snow on the ground but it is supposed to rain/sleet tomorrow night and Sunday. Right now we are having 45 knot winds so it is very hard to even stand up outside but we have some really dedicated fishermen.

MARINA OPERATIONS:

The hours of operation for Walnut Creek office will be changing to our season ending schedule. As of December 3rd the office and restrooms will only be open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7 am to 5:30 pm. This is until December 21, than the building will be closed until next April 9.

Please!!! Pick up after yourselves while you are here. It helps the place look nice and keeps everyone happy. Just follow all the rules and regulations and have a very happy and productive time fishing.
