WALLEYE:

Jim Bender of Pittsburgh and his brother Larry, who is up from Florida, brought in a cooler full of Walleye. The one on the left was a citation sized one at 9 pounds 1 ounce, 29 inches long and had a girth of 17 ¼ inches. Jim caught it in 74 ft of water West of Walnut Creek on a Blueberry Muffin worm harness.

Vincent Cifelli of Erie brought in this nice 11 pound 2 ounce Walleye. It was 32 ½ inches long with an 18 ½ inch girth. He caught it in 65 ft of water straight out of Walnut Creek on a worm. Monkey Puke was the color for him.

The weather has not been co-operating for the boaters lately. We have 4-6 ft waves right now (Friday) and there is a “Small Craft Advisory” up until late tonight. Tomorrow is supposed to be 2-4 ft waves so I guess the fishing is not going to be very good. It is supposed to lay down later Saturday to 1-3 ft so maybe some of you will have a change to get out.

Perch are being pretty evasive right now. Walleye seem to be the fish of catch lately. Some people are getting Perch but not a lot.
