STEELHEAD:

Thirteen year old Casey Smith of Sharon, PA caught this nice Steelhead on an egg sack. He weighed in at 8 pounds and 2 ounces and was 28 ¼ inches long. It was caught on the south side of the marina.

Glen J. Usher of Waynesburg, PA caught this nice 12 pound 9 ounce male. He and his buddy, Perry H Lemley Sr. brought it in for the Angler Award. It was caught with green power bait in Walnut Creek. It also had a girth of 20 ½ inches.

Michael Norco from New Castle, PA came in with a nice 12 pound 11 ounce Steelhead. He caught it at Trout Run on power bait. It had a 19 inch girth.

The lake was very nice this past weekend. We had quite a few boaters go out and try their luck. For a November day this is exceptional weather we are having but very nice for the boaters to get their last fishing gig in.

This weekend should be pretty good except if you want to go out on the lake. The waves on the lake are going to be 3-5 ft up till Monday. The temperature is to be in the 50's though so it should be nice. Right at this writing, Walnut Creek is high and muddy from the rain we had last night so Friday and Saturday should be pretty good for catching fish in the creek. For some reason they don't seem to want to stay at the mouth though so the people up in the creek are having better luck.

Power bait seems to be the bait of choice. But that all depends on the kind of fishing you want to do.
