Walleye Limits and loads of yellow perch

Walleye fishing near shore has continued to be good with limit catches quite often over the last six weeks.

The walleye are mostly good eaters but hold on there is some nice sized ones to battle to the net.

The walleye have been eating black and purple, blueberry muffin and fire tiger worm harnesses. Stop at BAC Bait shop 814-474-3992 or Hansen’s Bait Stand 814-838-1642. They both have been supplying some of the worm harnesses that I have been using.

Either side of Walnut Creek has been good 22 to 38 feet depth. Ohio line to the 2nd beach on Presque Isle has been holding fish in the rocky bottom areas.

Good size smallies have also been in the same areas.

Keep your bait as close to the bottom with out snagging and the big ones can be pulled out of the rocks.

Perch fishing 52 to 58 has been awesome off Conneaut and Walnut Creek. Lots of limit catches here every day. Picked up a blue perch the other day while perch fishing for those fine tasting yellow perch. Maybe a little blue pike in the blood line.

The deeper waters of the trench have been slow for walleye but a few steelies have begun to show up in the trench.
