The fishing is good and people continue to come to Walnut Creek marina. The middle of the week still has quite a few people around. The fish are biting too.|
The fish are up in Walnut Creek. For the people who don't like to fish the marina, there is always the creek. The middle of the week isn't quite as crowded as the weekends.
The weekenders fish around the marina. It is not as full as it was before they did the stream improvements and put the five holes in the creek. But there are still a few who like to fish the marina. It is good for kids and disabled fisherpeople.
It is quite crowded in the creek for the weekends and the fishing is great.
Steel head are the fish being caught now. You might catch a Coho salmon but they are few and far in between. The bait to use is single eggs, egg sacks, power bait, lures, and grubs. Of course you can fly fish too. Everyone has their special preference but I have seen quite a few get caught on each of these. We had a little rain on Wednesday but not enough to make the water come up, just enough to color the water. It did make some of the fish come in. I had a gentleman call and say he caught approximately 50 fish in a 4 hour span of time. I had a 16 pound 8 ounce fish brought in for an angler award. So there are still some big ones out there.
