Lake Erie Fishing Report: March 28, 2002 There is no fishing activity on Lake Erie to report at this time. River Walleye Runs: The Maumee River is 38 degrees Fahrenheit. The water level is low with 6 to 8 inches of clarity. Anglers are taking some male walleye. Occasional limits have been seen. The best locations are from Bluegrass Island upstream to Jerome Road. An occasional female has been taken below Conant Street Bridge. The best time seems to be the evening. Anglers are using floating jig heads with twister tails in chartreuse & florescent orange. The outlook for the weekend should be fair with the warming temperatures. The Sandusky River temperature is 36 degrees Fahrenheit and the river is near normal level. Fishing effort is very low. Anglers are catching an occasional walleye mostly in the morning. Anglers are using florescent orange jigs. Yesterday (Wednesday) there were only about a dozen anglers out and no fish were caught.
