| Happy Easter Everyone ! I wasn’t going to do a report this weekend because I couldn’t convince anyone to take a fishing trip on Easter weekend this year but after sticking my nose out there for myself and catching this beauty, I thought I’d come on here and brag, errrr I mean, show it off ! lol ! Well, worrying about Walleye # 1 for me personally is off my back for this year. And what a dandy it happened to be. Although I did not weigh it, I’m guessing that it was a good 10 pounder at least. It’s been a few years since I personally caught one that big jigging in the early spring. Like I mentioned last week, “You just never know” ! The fish was caught Friday on a blade bait however it did not come aboard “The Trophy” as I had jumped onto a friends brand new boat for a quick little maiden voyage. It’s kind of neat knowing that I will forever be the one to have caught the very first fish aboard his brand new boat. Hopefully that vessel will go on to catch many more Walleyes this season and in the years to come. So, someone else can still be “the first” to catch Walleye # 1 aboard “The Trophy” for the fishing season 2013. It should happen this week as I have trips starting towards weeks end. And should anyone be looking, I have this Wednesday & Thursday still available for a charter as well. Things are going to start happening fast out there now. Although we did not fish very long on Friday, I was driving around on Saturday and did see one boat come in with about 20 of them. A handful were huge also like the one I happened to luck into. Hopefully this trend will continue and only get better as the weather breaks from here on out. I should have a real fishing report up for next weekend. Stay tuned... Capt. Walt |
