Just take care on this ice, too may fishermen are taking this ice for granted. Yesterday, reports of guys going in at the crack off of east harbor and another going in at pebble beach. I fact, the airboats that run at Crane Creek are fishing the starve area. There is open water between Kelley's Is and Lakeside and the major crack that runs from Green Is to Camp Perry just closed up again on saturday. The 911 crack is still fair at this point. Just done take any chances, I know some of you travel a long way to fish, but it's not worth it. The new snow coming in will have a chance to melt with the sun for next w/e. There are trees set from the mainland to south bass but those are being used for the party sleds. Don't forget to stay off the airboat paths, a freind of mind was breaking ice just off the east harbor beach on saturday. I ran the path to starve on saturday, but I knew the crack wasn't going to hold. I'm runnung the paths off of Catawba Is now. Fishing has been good, but the catching has been slow, a few tails are coming in and the water clarity is 10 feet in the passage and over 15 feet south of the dock. Good Fishin and be safe.
