: Hello, My name is John. I am 13, but i am a very succesful steelhead fisherman. I cartch a lot of fish in creeks, but I need some information on how to catcth the spawners a little better! EArlier this year, we had a spell of warm weather and the water was low, and clear I noticed fish starting up the creeks , and had very good luck fishing them between 5 to 16 fish a day, but I came upon a a good number of fish just laying the shall runs ajacent to the holes. Classic spawning spot , but theses fish did not appear to be digging redds or dropping egss just slowly cruising and laying ! I caught a few on a small 5 and 8 mm crystal egg, and I do use singel salmon eggs, But If anyone has another method I would really apreciate knowing it! thanks -John
I find that passing streamers in there faces gets some good strikes. Big spey flies work real good.
