Central Basin

Walleye has been good NW of Lorain in 46’ of water, 48-50’ N of Rocky River, 32-38’ and 52-56’ N of Edgewater Park, 32-42’ NW of Fairport and 47’ NW of Geneva. Anglers are using stick baits such as rapalas, husky jerks, and bombers. Anglers are also using spoons and worm harnesses.


Yellow perch fishing has been very good 35-40’ NW of Gordon Park in Cleveland, 28-38’ NE of Wildwood State Park, 42-52’ NW of Fairport, 35-40’ N of Geneva and 47-53’ NW of Ashtabula.

Perch spreaders with shiners fished near the bottom produce the most fish. Shore anglers are catching fish off East 55 St Pier in Cleveland and Headlands Beach Pier out at the lighthouse. Anglers are using spreaders with shiners and the mornings have been best.


Smallmouth bass fishing has been very good in 15 to 25’ around harbor areas in Cleveland, Fairport Harbor, Geneva, Ashtabula and Conneaut. Fish are being caught on soft-craws, leeches, dark green and red tube jigs, blade baits and crank baits.
