** The daily bag limit for Lake Erie walleye is 6 fish per angler through February 28. The daily bag limit will drop to 4 fish per angler March 1 through April 30. The minimum size limit for walleye is 15”. **
** The daily bag limit for yellow perch is 30 fish per angler on all Ohio waters of Lake Erie.**
** The steelhead daily bag limit is 2 fish per angler through May 15. The minimum size limit for steelhead is 12 inches.
** The Lake Erie black bass (largemouth and smallmouth) daily bag limit is 5 fish per angler through April 30 with a minimum size limit of 14”.** Fishing for walleye is underway in protected areas west of South Bass Island and off of Catawba State Park and has generally been slow (as of 1/26/11). Panfish and yellow perch are also being caught on some of the harbors and bays in the western basin. Check with local bait shops or ice guides before venturing out on Erie’s ice.
