Over the past weekend (1/28, 1/29) anglers fished for walleye around Green Island, South Bass Island, Kelleys Island, Marblehead and Catawba. Results were poor as water clarity was greatly reduced from earlier winds. Most anglers are using typical ice fishing techniques from a boat. Popular techniques include jigging spoons or blade baits, and also fishing with a perch spreader tipped with shiners. Extreme caution is necessary with low water temperatures and the possibility of remnant ice chunks floating around.
