** The 15" walleye minimum size limit remains in effect for the entire
season. The walleye limit is 6 fish until March 1. From March 1
through April 30 the walleye limit on Lake Erie and its tributaries is 3
fish. Anglers are reminded that the daily bag limit for trout and
salmon on Lake Erie and its tributaries is 2 fish through May 15. The
minimum size limit is 12 inches.**

*2005 Ohio fishing licenses will be available beginning Tuesday,
February 15.*

Over the past weekend (Feb. 5 and 6) anglers fished west of the Bass
Islands, around Catawba Island, off of Camp Perry, around Kelleys
Island, and on Sandusky Bay. Many walleye were caught, but most were
near or under the 15" minimum size limit on the main lake with limited
reports of yellow perch being caught on Sandusky Bay. Recent warm,
rainy weather could potentially deteriorate ice conditions. Paths to
areas fished last week may no longer be safe. Be sure to check with
local bait stores, ice guides or other anglers before going out on areas
that you are not familiar with.
