OHIO BOATING CONFERENCE TO CONVENE AT MAUMEE BAY STATE PARK ON NOVEMBER 12-14 COLUMBUS, OH -- Boating professionals from across Ohio will gather at Maumee Bay State Park in Lucas County on November 12-14 for Confluence 2003: Ohio's Boating Legacy, a conference hosted by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). "Boating leaders from around the state come together during this biannual event to explore issues, trends and forecasts that will shape outdoor recreation, resource management and public safety well into the future," said Ken Alvey, chief of the ODNR Division of Watercraft. "This year's conference will also commemorate significant dates and events that have contributed to the history and success of recreational boating in Ohio." Experts in the areas of education, law enforcement, marketing, environmental research and the recreational boating industry will be present during the three-day conference to discuss various topics. Confluence 2003 will also provide training and information to assist participants in preparing for the future of recreational boating in the Buckeye State.
