Fishing report for the week of Oct 24, 2010.

Well it's the end of the road. After 7 months in the water and hardly missing a single week this year with the fishing reports, this final report is going to do it for me for this year. Although I will still be in the water for one more week, next weekend I will be super busy closing up the camp and cleaning and winterizing everything so I won't be bothering with any more reports after this one.

I have no more trips on the books anyway but I am available each day these final 7 days should anyone be interested and should the weather hold. I have all of next weekend available as well, Sat. & Sun. both. This past week however was yet another brutal one with the wind and waves resulting in very little fishing most of the week. I guess I did manage to get a couple of trips in which I was very appreciative of. And the big Perch were still biting as they have all along. The bad weather has not done anything to slow them down a bit this entire fall. Simply amazing !

These last few pictures that I am closing with represent a family outing where we were able to sneak off and get a few for our own freezers. It was a fun day and the Perch once again cooperated nicely as we went on to capture 180 Jumbo's. I wish I could have got a few Walleyes to go along with them earlier on as well for the freezer but with the busy schedule that I was blessed with all summer I was either working each day or the lake was too rough to go. Plus with the fish out so far off shore as they were most of the year, it really wasn't practical to run out just for fun to get a few fish.

So my 24th year in business is over with as well and "The Trophy" will soon be out of the water and put away nicely for the winter. I want to take this opportunity as I close to thank all the many guests that I had onboard this past season. Thanks for the business, thanks for your friendship and all of the wonderful memories that we created together. Other then fighting the weather as in any other year and my rash of breakdowns, it truly was a remarkable run that we had this year with better then average fishing which we can all be very thankful for. So till we have a chance to wet some lines together again, I hope everyone has a safe and healthy winter season and before you know it we'll be fishing together once again with me saying "It's just another day on The Trophy" ! Over and out for this year !
