Fishing Report by Captain Ron Rusch

Walleye fishing Monday 06/16/03

Walleye action continues to improve along the south shore of the first trench.

The wind on Monday was out of the northeast. Started fishing 65 feet north of Walnut.
Doubles seemed to be the way of hooking walleye this day. Getting both in was another story as one seemed to find a way off most of the time.

Walleye have been on the large size. All fish caught this day were on drifted worm harness fished deep. The wind continued to build slowly all morning and by early afternoon chased most boats off the water. The middle of the first trench seems to hold some very large walleye loners. Fished 400 to 370
