First Day of Smallmouth 06/14/03 and six tickets filled.

The first day always brings the competitive long time first day crew. After a quick stop at Hansen's Bait Stand 814-838-1642. Smiling Joe loads up several buckets of golden shiners.

First stop Shades Beach: Very little wind for drifting. Moved around all over the hot spots of the previous weeks and found several fishless drifts.

Moved east several miles and found light wind. Within minuets fish were coming at a slow steady pace.

The smallies danced on the water as the bite continued all day at a slow steady pace. Nice 20 inch smallie here!

The tickets were filling and the competition was tuff between the three paired up anglers.
Team Zebco, The Professionals and the Independents.

Best depth was 20 to 30 feet. Shorewood to McCord's Point was the best area. Wind was light and mostly west.

The Day ended with six tickets filled with some very nice size smallmouth. Great Day!!!
The competition ended up a tie with no tie breaker in writing. They can write the tie breaker rules for next year over the winter.
