Western Crawford County / Joe Russell Pymatuning Lake- The fall run of Walleye has begun in earnest this week with several boat loads of fishermen out braving the cold weather. Most of the activity right now is on the south end of the lake around the handicap point where we placed all the gravel beds this year and further south to just above the gatehouse on the dam. Everyone seems to be keying on the west side of the lake. Guys are doing real well with minnows and jigging sonar's and jigs tipped with minnies. Be aware of the weather and your temperature though as storms can come up very fast and Hypothermia can be potentially life threatening. Wear lots of layers and wool if possible as that will keep you warm even when wet. Have some high energy snacks with you and a thermos of something warm to drink (stay away from alcohol as that will actually lower you bodies temperature). And last but not least always carry a cell phone with you to contact someone when you are in trouble. Conneaut Lake- No fishing activity was noted here this week and I haven't heard from any anglers to pass on any news for you. The Pennsylvania/Ohio Joint Public Meeting on Horsepower- To date I have received very little response or E-mails on the meeting that will be held on November 21st. I have received almost a dozen e-mails from sportsmen who are not going to be able to attend the meeting and would like their opinions heard. Every one of them have been printed and delivered to the state park. I only hope that the low number of responses means that a significant number of you will show up for the meeting. Remember if you have an opinion and choose not to voice it, it is no ones fault but your own if you disagree with the outcome |
