:my son and i are planning on going to erie thsi weekend. i was wondering what are chances are for catching a few fish. we were up a few weeks ago and all we cuahgt were colds. we are looking forward to going up again. we ahve been putting off our trip till the weather was better. so what do you think should we give it another try this weekend? we are lanning on coming up that way this friday march2nd : Its cold! as of today, the creeks are low and starting to freeze up again. but theres a warm front coming through this sunday and monday that will shake things up a bit for the better.
: : ELK is still the most productive north of route 20 all the way to the basin, small baits, jigs, single eggs, and sacks. when using a jig tip it with your choice of either maggott or live minnow hooked threw the eyes.
: : i fished it on thursday and hooked two only landing one. both hook ups came on a fidget jig tipped with a live emerald shinner. i saw alot guys using sacks and single eggs and most of them were just catching a cold
: : that day. the water is very low and clear. not too mention very cold so dress warm and when the banks are icy beware. safety is more important then catching a fish.

: : just a personal note off the subject:
: : Dale Earnhardt's death has struck me very hard as i'm sure it has to alot of people, this man was a avid sportsman. the only thing i can say in his memory...
: : thanks for all the memories, you will be missed, and remembered.

: : MATT @ M-M BAIT & TACKLE

: Fished Elk Today, Creek Was preety cloudy with a quick current, Although fishing was tough was a great time, people seemed to be having better luck with spawn sacks and eggs, I didn't have much luck I was using Jigs tipped with Waxworms.
