Its your chance to try your hand at angling without purchasing a license. All fishing rules and regulations will be in effect. The Sons of Lake Erie & Pa. Fish & Boat Commission are sponsoring a "Learn to Fish" event this Saturday at the Waterworks pond on the Peninsula from 10:00am till 2:00 pm. Bait and equipment will be available with "experts" & Conservation Officers there to give instruction or answer questions. Lunch is provided to participants. CAUTION!! ... The entrance intersection of Walnut Access has a high amount of pedestrian traffic between the stream & the parking lot. Many anglers & children are present that may not look before crossing the roadway. The few seconds saved by failing to stop is not worth the problems caused by striking a pedestrian or having to pay a fine. The Stop Signs at that intersection will be strictly enforced by PFBC officers. Submitted by Dwco Randy Leighton

Weekends can be crowded at Walnut Creek but it is a tribute to the success of the Habitat Improvement Project. Survey counts have an average of 300 anglers from the mouth to the Manchester Bridge on weekend days.

Fishing at Manchester Hole is permitted from the West Bank only at the request of the landowner. This has kept things much more orderly and anglers are less likely to tangle lines.
