Rough lake conditions and sporadic passing storms have made for a wide
variation in angler success stories. Walleye fishing has been the best in
the second trench area off of Elk Creek but the fish are still in small
pockets rather than a major school.

Occassional Steelhead are being taken at Walnut Creek. Angler pressure has
been from 8 to 15 fishermen on the wall. It is still very early in the
season but if you go with the right attitude... it still is a pleasant way to
spend the day. Some large trout have been observed jumping in the boat basin
of the access area but it remains closed to fishing until the boats & docks
are removed.

Don't just sit at the access area & watch the Lake Erie waves crashing. Many
angling opportunities exist on the inland bodies of water. Edinboro has been
giving up walleye from Rt. 99 to behind the shopping mall on Rt. 6N. Most of
these are being caught about 60' from shore.
