The Elk Valley Sportsmen's Annual Kids Fishing Derby will be held at the
Girard Boro Pond on Saturday, May 6th @ 1 PM for children under 12 years of
age. This event is sponsored by the club with help & donations from
community businesses. Memberships will be available at the event for $5.00
which entitles you to their informative monthly newsletter.


Walnut Creek Basin & Channel is dredged to a depth averaging 4'. Docks
should be installed soon.

Smallmouths are being caught in the lake just west of Elk Creek in water
depths of 33' to 38'. White tube jigs with black flecks are working best.
Boats checked were averaging 60+ hookups/day for 2 anglers with some fish
hitting 5.5#


Remember that it is a violation to cast repeatedly over a Bass on its nest.
Pulling a fish from its nest allows predation of the eggs even if it is
released again.
