Walleye -

Where: Fishing has been excellent on Lake Erie. Anglers trolling are catching fish west of South Bass Island, north and west of North Bass Island, and around Kelleys Island. Anglers jigging are catching fish on the reefs of the Camp Perry firing range.
How: Troll using deep diving crankbaits such as Rapala deep husky jerks and Reef Runners in the middle of the water column at speeds from 1.0 to 1.8 mph. Hair jigs tipped with emerald shiners are the most popular jigging lures.

The Lake Erie water temperature is 49 off Toledo and 45 off Cleveland according to the nearshore marine forecast.

Anglers are encouraged to always wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device while boating.
