What a Weekend, Things just got wild. Friday was a beautiful calm day and the fish were very eager. Limits were the norm for the day. Then when you think you might have them figured, they prove to you that fishing is still fishing. Not Catching. We drove about 60 miles up,down and accrossed the lake on Saturday, finding fish schools and finding all of the closed mouth fish. Although as we found out it was pretty much the same for most on the lake this day. If you found a willing school and stayed with them you could catch a few. Sunday was back to the same as Friday. Willing fish and a good average size. Usually between 24-29". The popular colors appear to be purple, Chartruesse, with the RR bare naked series accounting for a large portion of the fish. One thing to remember is the fish feed upwards so you have to keep your baits just above them to score. Thanks to the weekender who moved his boat to keep from taking out my starboard setup. If everyone just tries a little we all can capitalize on the great walleye fishing we are now experiencing. Good Luck to All.
