Got out early Saturday Morning with hopes of finding a school of walleye that I have been staying with this month. But iti si fishing and that was proven SAturday Morning. They just left the area and I did not find them. I made the trip out to 80' water line and started to fish another school. They were interested in our bait and we started to hook up within minutes of setting up. The first fish in was a nice 28.5". As erie does it changes frequently and often. The wind kept coming and the waves kept building. With the wind coming from the south even the water we were in had no protection and we were soon into 4-5 footers. So we had to troll one direction to keep the bite consistant. When we went through the fish the bite was very good. Our main setup for these fish have been lead core 5 colors and trolling weights back 225-250'. The reef runner and Ronoskys have been the ticket. You will have to adjust your weight to get then down to the school.
Sunday was our annual kids day fishing trip with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Erie. Mother Nature was not kind. This was our second try to get the kids out for perch and the weather just would not cooperate, with small craft warnings we just wouldn't risk the trip. So on to next year for the kids and we hope for the weather to be better. Good Luck to All
