STEELHEAD:

Eleven year old Connor Nace and his brother fifteen year old Austin Nace came up from Littlestown, Pa to catch some Steelhead. They caught two fish each. Connor’s total fish weight was 9 ½ pounds for both and Austin’s two fish total weight was 10 ½ pounds. They caught them in Walnut Creek in the channel on Skein and minnows.

Thomas Redlinger from Coraopolis, PA caught this nice Angler Award sized fish. It was 10 pounds 2 ounces, was 29 ½ inches long and had a girth of 18 ¾ inches. He caught it up in the Stop Sign hole in Walnut Creek on a wax worm while fly fishing.

Brad Dickey of Mechanicsburg, PA caught his first Steelhead. He received and Angler Award for First Fish. It was 8 pounds 1 ounce, was 28 inches long and had a girth of 15 ¼ inches. He caught it on a hair jig in Walnut Creek.

MARINA OPEN:

First fish was caught at 1 min. 10 sec. after the whistle.

The man who caught it was Dick Mosbacher of Erie. He threw it back in after I got the picture. He caught the first fish but it took him a while to bring it in.

First fish brought in was from Lou Fritch of Cheswick, PA. He and Dick Mosbacher were close in their catches but he netted his before Dick could. He was the second one to catch a fish but the first one to net it and bring it to shore.

The water in the creek is up and running. The fish are on their way to the Millcreek Mall. The snow we had on Tuesday and the rain that has been coming down slowly has made the creeks rise so the fish can finally come in and do what they have to do. The lake is supposed to be nice tomorrow and then it is supposed to kick up.
