Being a 1st time boater on Brie i went up saturday to do a little perch fishing. We went and launched at Walnut Creek Access and started to go out of the creek mouth and boom. Before i know it Im draggin up dirt and my outdrive is dragging bottom. I only have a 21ft Islander...i dont draft much. You think the creek would be a little bit deeper to suit the larger boats that Launch there. I talked to a few other guys about what happened to me, and they said its been happening to them for almost 3 weeks. Its just horrible and real shame that the fish and boat commission worries so bad about you being safe on the water then they leave the main channel to the lake which is an accident waiting to happen. i talked to a guy who has a 22ft boat and went out friday in 3-5ft waves and said theres a possibility that if theres a north wind with 3-5ft waves on the lake there is a posibility u could bottom out in the channel. What a shame...Least the perch were biting |
