It is now Thursday and the river is still a little angry. The clarity is not as good as we would like. The water level is higher than normal, but that doesn't affect fishing as much as the clarity problem.

The forecast looks good this weekend for minimal rain and with the receeding waters, one should be able to fish Buttonwood by Saturday or Sunday. Although is has been cold, we are still seeing fish in our usual spots. In other words, things look OK now but are improving quickly. This weekend should bring lots of good fishing. If you need a guide check out www.homeruncharters.com They get fish when others don't and eliminate unproductive time.

Try using floaters with 1/4 to 1/2 oz. egg sinker with chartruse, yellow, white, pink tails. The flow rate will dictate the amount of weight to use, remember you want to feel that tick, tick, tick of the bottom and set the hook with the gradual pressure of a hit.
