Walleye Fishing Report for Maumee and Sandusky Rivers April 7, 2003 Maumee River - 45°F, water is high & muddy, pressure is low. Anglers are catching walleye – mostly males 18-22” with an occasional larger flowing female. Best areas are Orleans Park & White Street Access – from the shoreline. The island is inaccessible. Anglers are using floating jigs heads and lead head jigs with twister tails. OUTLOOK SHOULD IMPROVE WITH WARMER TEMPS. Sandusky River - 44°F, water is high & muddy, pressure is low. Anglers are catching some walleye – mostly males. Best area has been downstream from State Street Bridge. Best baits are ¼ oz. jigs in orange, pink or chartreuse. OUTLOOK SHOULD IMPROVE WITH WARMER TEMPS. |
