Fished on Saturday, April 5th. With the 34 degree temps and 25 mph winds it was nothing nice out on the Maumee. Actually, water temps were a little warm for that time of year before the cold rain and cold front moved through the area. It has continued to stay cold, bringing us back down to normal. |
Regardless, the river is still messy and needs to settle down. When the weather settles down and we have a period when the pressure is steady and the weather is fair, look out. Water flow is good which will bring in the fish.
We fished saturday with only a handful of other anglers at the Buttonwood then Ft. Meigs location. Chartruse floaters and 1/2 to 5/8 ounce of lead was getting us to that tick, tick of the bottom. No fish were caught, and only 2 were seen the entire day. You weren't missing anything.
