Fished on Saturday, April 5th. With the 34 degree temps and 25 mph winds it was nothing nice out on the Maumee. Actually, water temps were a little warm for that time of year before the cold rain and cold front moved through the area. It has continued to stay cold, bringing us back down to normal.
Regardless, the river is still messy and needs to settle down. When the weather settles down and we have a period when the pressure is steady and the weather is fair, look out. Water flow is good which will bring in the fish.
We fished saturday with only a handful of other anglers at the Buttonwood then Ft. Meigs location. Chartruse floaters and 1/2 to 5/8 ounce of lead was getting us to that tick, tick of the bottom. No fish were caught, and only 2 were seen the entire day. You weren't missing anything.
