The Maumee River had begun to get back to it's springtime normals ~ FINALLY! |
Water temperature still remains at 37 degrees, water level has dropped to 585' at the time of this report.
Fishing is still extremely slow!
A VERY FEW 'resident fish', are all that have been caught during the last two weeks. The warm rains from the last couple of days; should start bringing the 'Jacks' upriver, through the Maumee & Perrysburg fishing areas, within the next several days.
The high-water experienced during & since the ice-out on Sunday 3/16, has made the lure of choice; unpainted round-head jigs (1/2 oz. to 5/8 oz.), with mostly the darker-colors of twister-tails being used. That will probably switch to a mixture of round-heads & floating-jigs with brighter colored tails, as the water drops and the water temperature continues to climb.
Best chance for 'easy' limits of Walleye, is still sometime in the near future!
