The Maumee River had begun to get back to it's springtime normals ~ FINALLY! Water temperature still remains at 37 degrees, water level has dropped to 585' at the time of this report. Fishing is still extremely slow! A VERY FEW 'resident fish', are all that have been caught during the last two weeks. The warm rains from the last couple of days; should start bringing the 'Jacks' upriver, through the Maumee & Perrysburg fishing areas, within the next several days. The high-water experienced during & since the ice-out on Sunday 3/16, has made the lure of choice; unpainted round-head jigs (1/2 oz. to 5/8 oz.), with mostly the darker-colors of twister-tails being used. That will probably switch to a mixture of round-heads & floating-jigs with brighter colored tails, as the water drops and the water temperature continues to climb. Best chance for 'easy' limits of Walleye, is still sometime in the near future! Look for us alongside the River at Side-Cut Park; for up-to-the-minute, accurate, fishing-information! Good Fishin'!
