Were back! The boat went in the water this year on March 28th. And what a cruel joke Mother Nature has played on all of us. After a winter of mostly 50, 60 and even 70-degree temperatures, the last three weeks have seen below normal temperatures and more snow than weve seen all winter! We actually had to cut through ice to get our boat into its slip on the 28th. The water here in the Western Basin has been muddy and cold, making for some slow fishing that first weekend. This past weekend was nothing to write home about although we caught fish every trip out. Thursday, April 4th was the exception and we actually had our first good day aboard The Trophy. We had a total of six aboard and we limited the boat out fishing on the Toussaint Reef with blade baits. Other action that I heard about was either Cedar Point Beach by Toledo, OH (not the amusement park) in eight ft. of water with jigs and minnows and under the railroad bridge in Sandusky Bay. Water temps. when we put the boat in were around 37 but now are up to 41.
